Deputy Chief of Staff Military Partnerships
Major General Ali ÇETİNKAYA was born on 13 Feb 1962 in Balıkesir, Turkey. He assumed the position of Deputy Chief of Staff Military Partnerships, SHAPE in August 2014.
Major General Ali ÇETİNKAYA joined the Turkish Air Force (TURAF) as an air cadet in 1980. He graduated from Air Force Academy and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1984.
After pilot training and combat readiness trainings on 2nd and 3rd Main Jet Base Commands, he completed F-104 transition on 4th Main Jet Base in 1986. Between 1987 and 1994, he worked as fighter pilot at 9th Main Jet Base. Afterwards, he completed F-16 and UH-1H helicopter transition in 1992 and 1993 respectively.
Following the duties as program officer and wing commander, he was assigned to 9th Main Jet Base as training officer in 1998.
He graduated from Air War Academy as Staff Major in 2001 and worked as squadron ops officer. In 2002, he was assigned as squadron commander.
The following year, he studied at Air Staff College in USA for a year and then in 2004, he was stationed in 3rd Main Jet Base Anatolian Eagle. In 2005, he was assigned to AIRSOUTH in Italy as Chief of Air Operations. In 2007, he worked as chief of evaluation and inspection at 4th Main Jet Base and was chosen for Armed Forces Academy course. In 2008, he was named as ops commander in 4th Main Jet Base Command.
After his promotion to Brigadier General in 2009, he served as Air Force Chief of Project Management between 2009 - 2011. In 2011, he was designated as 8th Main Jet Base Commander. In 2013, he was promoted to Major General and assigned as 3rd Main Jet Base Commander.
Major General Ali ÇETİNKAYA is married to Mrs. Serap and has a daughter, Serenay, and a son, Gökay..
